> TRAVELLING IN BUSINESS CLASS
> Over the years, the value of the ID80 has diminished as the

> The 2003 program will give eligible users an allotment of two (2) C1/J10
> passes per year;
> Your allotment will be stored in your personal profile and you'll be able
> to select this option at time of registration – no longer will you need
> to call the Employee Call Centre to use this privilege;
> If you've registered for the C1/J10 priority, you'll be assessed the C1/J10

> travel in the Y cabin on one or more legs of your journey (as is the

> As soon as you make use of a C1/J10 pass, it will be taken from your

> THE NEW BILLING PROCESS – More efficient
> The new billing process will improve our internal process,
> thereby reducing our operating and administrative costs and, in
> the end, result in more timely billing of your travel charges. In the
> feedback that you provided to us, the message rang out loud and
> clear - employees want to be billed quickly.
>
> The new automated billing/pricing module will provide a host of special
> features:
> You'll now be able to make pricing inquiries and choose your method of
> payment at time of registration;
> You'll be able to select the option of paying by credit card or, for those
> who are payroll or pension-deducted, you can choose payroll/pension
> deduction. The credit card option will be shown first followed by
> payroll deduction;
> Information related to your chosen credit card and its expiry date will be
> stored within each of your profiles. All information stored within your
> profile has been created in People Soft and will be secure;
> You'll be able to view your cost of travel, including taxes, based on type
> of travel chosen (C2/Y10 or C1/J10), whether you're booking for personal
> or
> parent/partner travel;
> In order to correctly assess taxes, a trip has been defined as one of the
> following:
>
> 1. You have returned to point of origin, or
> 2. 30 days have elapsed since your travel began, or
> 3. You have completed eight (8) sectors of travel.
>
> Billing will occur once ANY ONE of the above has taken place;
> If you have not completed your journey within 30 days, the remaining
> sectors will be billed and taxed as a separate trip;
> The new process will involve electronic files in the majority of cases,
> greatly reducing the manual handling of coupons by our Accounting and
> Payroll departments;
> As you board the flight a "record" of your travel will be initiated – so
> you'll only be billed for actual travel, not intended travel;
> Charges will be recorded on your credit card statement or on your pay
> stub. The description of the charge will not be as detailed as it is
> today.
> However, you'll be able to view this information on the Employee Travel
> site
> in your Travel History file, using the billing reference on your credit
> card
> statement or the amount shown on your pay stub.
>
> All of these web enhancements and more will be at your disposal and provide

> TRAVELLING TICKETLESS – Effortless travel … eliminating the paper trail
> The introduction of ticketless travel is a totally new approach and
> may take some getting used to. Ticketless travel will eliminate the
> "paper trail" as the automated system will keep a record of flights
> taken without the need of a paper ticket – no more coupons. This
> will eliminate errors and save countless hours trying to match up
> travel coupons or waiting for the completion of your journey, as is
> the case today.
>
> Approximately 80 per cent of Air Canada's network is made up of DCS
> (Departure Control System) stations and these will become ticketless for
> personal, business, parent/partner and retiree travel;
> For non-DCS stations, you will require a paper coupon, e.g. DEN, PHX, MAD,
> DUB, CDG, etc., and a new coupon is being designed;
> At time of registering, via the Web, you'll be advised by a "pop up
> message" if a paper coupon is required;
> For itineraries needing a combination of both, you'll travel ticketless on
> flight segments departing from approved DCS stations and fill-in a trip
> pass
> coupon for flight segments departing from all others;
> A paper ticket won't be required for you to be billed – at all DCS
> stations, all the billing information will be recorded automatically;
> Your travel allotment and a record of all your trips will be stored in
> your Travel History File, whether you travel ticketless or with a trip
> pass
> coupon.

> PARENT/PARTNER TRAVEL PROGRAM
> The automation of the new employee travel product will allow us
> to reintroduce – on a one year trial basis – limited use of
> "unaccompanied" travel partner travel. With the launch of this new
> system in early 2003, each employee, eligible retiree and/or
> widows/widower will have an annual allotment of Parent/Partner
> passes as follows:
>
> You will have a total annual allotment of ten (10) Parent/Partner passes;
> Eligible widows/widowers will continue to receive four (4) partner passes
> per year;
> Your allotment will be registered and tracked in your employee profile;
> The cost of a Partner/Parent Travel pass will be equal to three (3) times
> the employee Y charge;
> Unaccompanied Travel Partners:
> – Non-dependent Children. Your non-dependent children will be able to
> travel
> "unaccompanied" at a C5/Y10 priority (part of the above allotment of
> 10);
> Note: This does not include their spouses or their children;
> – You will manage your own travel profile and be required to list your
> non-dependent children in your profile on the Employee Travel Site;
> – Designated Partner. Single employees/retirees will have the option of
> naming, 1 (one) person of their choice who will be able to travel
> "unaccompanied", at a C5/Y10 priority (part of the above allotment of
> 10);
> – Single employees will be required to list their Designated Partner in
> their travel profile on the Web site - with the option of changing this
>
> Designated Partner once every six months (maximum of two people in a
> one
> year period);
> – Parents will continue to travel unaccompanied at their C3/Y10 priority
> (part of the above allotment of 10). If you accompany your parents, they
>
> will travel on the same priority as the employee.
> Accompanied Travel Partners:
> – As it is today, you'll be required to travel with all other partners. A
>
> maximum of four (4) partners can travel with you or your spouse (part
> of the
> above allotment of 10). Accompanied travel partners will travel at the
> same
> priority as the employee.
> Note: C1/J10 is not applicable to travel partners.
>
> YOUR EMPLOYEE TRAVEL SITE – Enhanced to serve you better
> We will be enhancing our existing web site to give our users added
> functionalities, easier access and flexibility when listing for space
> available travel or when booking confirmed travel for personal/business
> reasons. We also need to reduce the administrative costs of employee travel
>
> by significantly reducing the involvement of the Employee Call Centre and
> making sure that employees are properly registered prior to arriving at the
>
> airport.
> You'll now be able to:
>
> Plan and price your trip in advance on the Web – build your itinerary
> and/or modify same;
> Access your Travel History File which will display your C1/J10 allotment
> and record usage, and provide you with a listing showing any service
> anniversary passes, Award of Excellence, or merit award passes (if
> applicable to you);
> Check your file for a record of trips taken, as this will be documented in
> your Travel History File;
> See on which routes you'll travel ticketless and on which routes you'll
> require a coupon;
> View "pop ups" or automatic prompts – reminders that you need a passport,
> visa or any other necessary travel documents;
> Select the "round-trip" or "one-way" option;
> Obtain flight information, to a specific destination, on all ZED carriers;
> Quote ZED fares, including taxes;
> Request ZED tickets via the Web – you can order all the ZED tickets you'll
> need prior to travelling;
> Obtain easy access to rules and regulations pertaining to travel;
> Select the type of travel, i.e. personal, business, spousal, eligible
> children, partner, etc.;
> Select your priority by listing with a C2/Y10 or C1/J10 (two C1/J10 per
> year).
>
> Personal travel options will be expanded to include the redemption of
> confirmed space travel passes for service awards (25, 30, 35, 40 & 45
> years), Award of Excellence, or passes for merit awards and/or other prizes.
>
> The ability to register on the Web will be extended to additional user
> groups. It will now include "non self-ticketing" individuals who are not
> in
> receipt of a pay or pension statement, i.e. employees and retirees of AC
> ZIP, Air Georgian and Air Canada's non-airline subsidiaries (Aeroplan, Air
>
> Canada Vacations and Destina), as well as business travel for AC
> Consultants.
>
> YOUR TRAVEL PROFILE – Easy access to your travel history
> The new automated system will reside in People Soft and will let
> you update your travel profile. Available to each individual who
> will have access to our Web system, your travel profile will:
>
> Store detailed information on your travel privileges;
> Provide alternate methods of payment - and allow you to update your credit

> Keep a running account of trips taken and all your charges. You'll also be
> able to:
> – Access the Web using an assigned pin number (same number you have for

> TRAVELLING ON SUBSIDIARY AIRLINES
> When the new program comes into effect, In early 2003, you'll see
> some other changes to travel priorities. Employees of mainline
> Air Canada and all wholly owned airline subsidiaries (Jazz and ZIP)
> will share a common (C2) priority on the Air Canada network of
> flights. The reasons for this change are:
> Simplification – employees will no longer require separate PNR's and/or
> separate priorities when travelling throughout the Air Canada network
> (mainline, regional, low fare, etc.). It will be easier for everyone if
> their entire itinerary is on one record locator (excluding travel on
> other
> airlines);
> Systems will be easier to manage;
> It will be consistent with many major carriers in North America;
> Many common sectors are operated by Jazz, ZIP and Mainline – harmonization
> will make it easier for airport staff to handle the stand-by process;
> Employees* hired by our wholly owned, non-airline subsidiaries (Destina,
> Aeroplan and ACV) will enjoy a travel program which contains a limited
> allotment of personal and partner passes at a lower priority (C4) on the
> Air
> Canada mainline/regional network of flights.
> *Those employees working for a wholly owned subsidiary (airline or
> non-airline) who originated from mainline Air Canada will have their
> employee travel privileges grandfathered as C2.
>
> TRAVELLING ON OTHER AIRLINES (OAL)
> Our new automated system will provide employees/retirees, who
> are eligible to travel on other airlines (OAL), with new travels tools
> to plan and price their trips. You'll now be able to order ZED fare
> passes for OAL travel on our new enhanced Employee Travel site,
> saving you time. Note: ID90 and ID75 Interline agreements will
> continue to be ordered via the Call Centre.
>
> Accessing the routings and schedules of OAL will make planning your trip
> much easier;
> You'll be able to create your own ZED files and obtain pricing;
> The system will help you plan your trips through RESIII or, if need be, to
> view OAL flight schedules by accessing other public sites;
> Once you've completed the booking transaction, you'll be able to order
> your ZED ticket, which will be mailed or sent to you by courier from our
> Call Centre staff or, if necessary, you'll be able to pick-up your ticket
> at
> the airport.
>
> USING SPEECH RECOGNITION
> Speech Recognition will continue to serve the needs of those who
> don't have access to a computer. Its functionality will be limited to
> its current use. Enhancements to our Speech Recognition product
> are presently under review.
>
> In the early part of 2003 you'll be seeing many new options
> on our Employee Travel site. You'll be the owner and user
> of this new product – our goal was to automate the product,
> making it simple to use, flexible, more efficient and always
> available.
> We hope you'll use the Web at every opportunity and, if you
> don't have access to a computer at home, you may want to
> access the Internet through your family and friends,
> through the local library or an Internet café.
>
> Over the coming months, we'll be providing additional
> information on all aspects of the project, including Family
> Affair and code share travel. We will try to respond to your
> feedback and answer as many of your questions as possible.
>
> Remember, if you didn't hear it from us… it's probably just
