. Need to know.
. As Spring Break makes its way across the Northwest Territories,
British Columbia, Manitoba, Edmonton- Calgary’s is a little later,
and Prince Edward Island over the coming weeks, we’re anticipating
heavy flight loads, especially on weekends.
Before jetting off to destinations in Canada, Europe, or in the sun,
be sure to bring back up tickets on other carriers—before you leave home.
In addition, remind travel partners that they can only travel on flights
operated by Air Canada or the Regional Carriers, and aren’t eligible for
compensation in a denied boarding situation.

ULTRALIGHTS TO LEAD WHOOPING CRANE MIGRATION:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced last week that it plans to try
this fall to re-establish migratory whooping crane colonies in the eastern states.
The cranes will be led by pilots from Operation Migration -- of "Fly Away
Home" Hollywood-movie fame -- who have developed successful procedures
for training wild birds to follow forgotten migration paths. The rare, endangered
cranes will undergo 30 hours of training, then take off on a 1,250-mile migration
route from Wisconsin to central Florida.
We hope the birds will undergo collision avoidance training. At five feet tall,
the whooping crane would likely make a pretty good splat against any aircraft,
especially an ultralight.
William "Scotty" Scott, a former Northwest Airlines pilot whose plane was
hijacked by the infamous D.B. Cooper, died recently of prostate cancer. He was
81. Scott and his crew were flying a Boeing 727 when they were hijacked
Nov. 24, 1971. A passenger named Dan Cooper, later mistakenly identified as
D.B. Cooper, boarded the airplane in Portland, Ore. En route to Seattle, the man
handed a ransom note to a cabin attendant, threatening to detonate a bomb
unless he got $200,000 and four parachutes. Nearly everyone got off the plane in
Seattle, where Cooper collected the ransom. He then ordered Scott to fly to Mexico.
Cooper parachuted from the plane over Washington state and was never heard from
again. The case remains unsolved. Scott flew for Northwest for 34 years before
retiring in 1980.

Subject: Re carry on luggage
A vulture needed to take a plane across the country, and, knowing full well
about the terrible quality of airline food, he stepped on board with two dead
raccoons tucked under his wings. However, the stewardess stopped him,
saying: "I'm very sorry Mr.Vulture, you know that we only allow one carrion per passenger."
