. Monika Hilson sends this information -
It has come to my attention that cons are having a lot trouble plussing on
Air Canada out of HNL. Be aware that you should get yourself a Con list
printed out before you leave home.
The main problem is that they won*t give you a boarding pass until
25 minutes before departure , sounds not too bad but that is outside in the
terminal building, then you have to go through security again and our gate is
the furthest to the moon and if you walk a good clip and it takes l5 min. to
get there. Also other Airlines are being called before the Air Canada employees.

AIR CANADA PIONAIRS AND CANADIAN AIRLINES INTERNATIONAL
RETIREES TO MERGE
I am pleased to advise that Air Canada has given the go ahead to the Pionairs
to offer membership to all retirees of Canadian Airlines International.
Although the process will get underway shortly, it will be some weeks before it
will be complete in keeping with the spirit of our bylaws.
Presently, Canadian Airlines International has approximately 5000 retirees,
2700 of which are represented by CAIRE (Canadian Airlines International Retirees).
Pionair members have anxiously awaited this opportunity to welcome our
CAIRE colleagues into our ranks. CAIRE represents an airline heritage that not
only embraces today's advanced Airbus and Boeing technology, but the vintage
aircraft of the early days of commercial aviation, like the Ford Trimotors and
Fokker Super Universals. Their era of Comets, Britannias, DC-4s And DC-6s is
well remembered by all of us.
Our new members will bring with them the traditions and spirit of such great
names as Pacific Western Airlines, Nordair, Wardair, Time Air, Transair,
CP Air and Eastern Provincial.
The Pionairs will now be totally unique, not only in size, but in the breadth of the
aviation heritage that we will represent. Congratulations to all.
Saville Hambleton, President, Air Canada Pionairs

. Smilie.
Several years ago, Australian Airlines (later to become Qantas
Domestic) used a barf bag that doubled -- presumably as an alternate,
NOT additional use -- as a film-mailing envelope for a large photo
processing company.
This colourful printed barf bag encouraged passengers to -- and I
swear that I'm not making up this quote -- "Re-live those wonderful
memories."
