Two years ago AC outsourced the entire computer services branch to an IBM subsidiary called Advantis/ISM Travel & Transportation. People who were within 2 years of getting their "25-years" were bridged - I was one of the lucky few. It's been a few years since I worked in Operations and now I am doing Business Process Re-engineering and project work. It's all quite interesting and I enjoy it quite a bit. Do you remember the Honeywell machine??? Well, it's still there!!! There's not too many people around who know anything about it so when there are problems I usually get dragged into it. So much for Beautiful British Columbia we had all four seasons in the same day except summer sunshine. Of course the weather was wonderful just before we arrived, and it cleared up just after our departure. No wonder they call it La La land. Over the past 10 years we've been involved in quite a few house exchanges. Simply put - you agree on a time and then swap houses. Our exchanges have usually been for 3 or 4 weeks, most often in Europe but also in California and Texas. There are lots of opportunities to exchange in most countries. The major drawback for most of our friends is a reluctance to have a stranger occupying their homes. But that said, the price is right.
