About us!
Since October 1995, Vesta Stevenson and Terry Baker have been issuing an email newsletter for those ex Air Canada types who have provided us with their email addresses. The Newsletter was created by Vesta, who gave the name 'NetLetter' and added 'Between Ourselves' - a TCA periodical with which you are probably familiar with from the 50's and 60's. It was then changed to "Between Yourselves" to avoid confusion when "Horizons" resurrected the name. Then finally simplified to just "The NetLetter".
We believe that our NetLetter, which originates from Vancouver Island, was the FIRST to use this medium to disperse information for retirees of Air Canada.
The NetLetter contains airline related information such as anecdotes or stories supplied by some of the recipients, Internet tips, travel news, cheap... excuse me, "inexpensive" accommodations, tours, interline travel, and, in some small way, we help keep our Air Canada family together and in touch.
Our 'NetLetter' is NOT sponsored by any Pionair group, nor are we seeking any financial support, only the Internet email addresses of those who would like to receive our 'NetLetter'. Please forward this to other retirees who can then subscribe right from the forwarded link at the bottom of this email.

AC documentary now available For six months last year, aviation writer and TV producer John Lovelace and a film crew were given behind-the-scenes access to Air Canada’s operations and archives. The result is a one-hour documentary on the 68-year history of the airline. During the filming, John talked to 45 past and present employees, telling Air Canada’s history from the employees’ perspective.
"I wanted the story to evolve from the recollections of the employees that built the airline and from the viewpoints of the employees that will take Air Canada into the future," said John. The Air Canada story aired in February and will be broadcast on over 60 U.S. and Canadian outlets over the next three years. John worked closely with Air Canada this year to produce air-to-air footage of the newly painted A340- 500 and other film projects.
John is making copies of the one hour DVD available to employees at a reduced rate of $29.95 plus taxes until Nov. 15.

Ron Meldrum sends us this info - Hi; FYI, I tried using the new APIS system to enter required info. When I went to the destination section, I entered "ship name , cruise line" in the field for "number and street name" as per the instructions for "going on a cruise".
Message returned saying there were illegal characters in this field.
I called the Help Line (India) and was told that the instructions for this were incorrect and that the ship name and cruise line were to be entered all in lower case and all one word ie no spaces or commas.

How many times have you noticed that, as the flight attendant is instructing us to: 'Place light articles in the bins above with the heavier articles placed under the seat in front of you' you watch a fellow passenger struggle to stuff an oversized, overweight bag into a bin above someone - only to be helped by a flight attendant?
