About us!
Since October 1995, Vesta Stevenson and Terry Baker have been issuing an email newsletter for those ex Air Canada types who have provided us with their email addresses. The Newsletter was created by Vesta, who gave the name 'NetLetter' and added 'Between Ourselves' - a TCA periodical with which you are probably familiar with from the 50's and 60's. It was then changed to "Between Yourselves" to avoid confusion when "Horizons" resurrected the name. Then finally simplified to just "The NetLetter".
We believe that our NetLetter, which originates from Vancouver Island, was the FIRST to use this medium to disperse information for retirees of Air Canada.
The NetLetter contains airline related information such as anecdotes or stories supplied by some of the recipients, Internet tips, travel news, cheap... excuse me, "inexpensive" accommodations, tours, interline travel, and, in some small way, we help keep our Air Canada family together and in touch.
Our 'NetLetter' is NOT sponsored by any Pionair group, nor are we seeking any financial support, only the Internet email addresses of those who would like to receive our 'NetLetter'. Please forward this to other retirees who can then subscribe right from the forwarded link at the bottom of this email.

Dear NetLetter,
We apologize for the long delay in getting the NetLetter out to all our faithful readers. This was because I was away on vacation in China with little Internet connectivity. We hope that some of our readers read the NetLetter at the ACFamily Nedtwork site where it was posted.
NetLetter's number 919 and 920 will follow shortly!
We now estimate that the NetLetter is read by over 2711 retirees when counting our email distribution and those that print the NetLetter and give them out to their friends.
To get in touch with either the Editor/Pilot or Co- Pilot our email address is still This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
To make changes to your e-mail address or to unsubscribe, please see the links at the bottom of the page for "Update Profile/Email address" and SafeUnsubscribe. This is now automated so that you can remove yourself from the list or change your email address (or name) without our assistance. We will still do this manually if you have any difficulties.
Many of our members are having difficulty finding these links. You will need to scroll to the bottom of the page, the link in similar to the following image. (The image below doesn't work but your links at the bottom will). Thank you

Portal tip - each 'tab' has a function. Information on the Portal ( http://acaeronet.aircanada.ca) has been grouped into five broad categories (My News, My Work, My Life, My Toolbox, My HR). For your convenience, the Portal has been designed so each category is displayed as a tab on the top of each page. Access to the different tabs depends on your needs. For example, the 'My Toolbox' tab provides access to e-mail and Calendar (if applicable) as well as a Tools list which includes links to corporate and branch-specific applications. Retirees have access to 'My Life' for personal information, but won't see the 'My Work' tab as it contains only work-related documents. Also, at this time the 'My HR' tab is only available to employees based in North America - as the Portal continues to evolve, this function and many others will be added on a progressive basis. No matter where you are on the ACaeronet, you can always return to the top of each main category by clicking on the applicable tab.
Looking for some sunny deals? Take a look at Air Canada Vacations. If you have some vacation time coming up and want to check out what sunny destinations are available for Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and Air Canada Vacations employees at discounted prices, check the Portal (ACaeronet). You'll find all the details you need by clicking on the 'Plan Travel' button in the upper right-hand corner, then select the ACV Vacation link on the Employee Travel site. You can also call (514) 876- 0760 or 1-877-752-5510 toll free.

With the recent efforts to save and restore Super Constellation fin 405 CF-TGE, presently abandoned and parked at YYZ, we thought the following story would be of interest to you -
Written by Trev Trow From: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Subject: A Long Flight/ Keep this plane in Canada I was a purser on the Super Connie and i am sure worked on this aircraft many times on the North Atlantic run. Every time I drive past the plane on Derry Road I get quite a feeling of nostalgia. It was a magnificent plane to work, although every time when the superchargers went from low to high there was always a twinge of weightlessness, which was not pleasant. As I recall, later when two engines were changed at a time (instead of all four together) it was not so noticeable. We served two hot meals to the passengers travelling from Montreal to London and because of the length of the flight we had time to wash the dishes to have them ready for the second meal. I've written a number of stories about my experiences on this plane. (We will print to story in the next NetLetter - eds)

The following was exchanged on Kennedy Tower freq: Twr: Cactus 51, turn right zulu and golf, hold behind the plane that's stopped to recycle. Cactus 51: Cactus 51 we'll make the right zulu and golf, behind the recycled airplane ... whatever that means. Trw: C'mon Cactus, you guys should know what that means, you fly Airbus' -- it's when the screens go blank and you have to restart them all. Cactus 51: Oh, yeah, we know about that. We just thought it was 'cause we were out of quarters.
Pilot: Tower, Cessna1234 would like to shoot a missed approach. Tower: Cessna 1234 approved for missed approach. Pilot: Roger. How close can we come? Tower: ... Just don't hit the tower.
